FREE! Weekly fitness walks are open to the community. The walks are lead by KVW members who want to share the fun of walking with others. Walks are for those who walk a moderate to fast pace ( 14 minute mile or faster ). Slower walkers should bring a walking partner to walk your pace. Come walk with us !
Monday-Wednesday-Friday year round at 6 a.m to 6:45 a.m. with stretching.
Portage MI - Centre/Angling Walk:
Meet at the Portage YMCA parking lot at 2900 W Centre Ave. Walk 3 miles. No outdoor walking on bad weather days (YMCA members walk the YMCA indoor track). Occasional Sunday walks in the summer. KVW Training for Walkers
Winter Walk Class - TBD: Ten week class on Sunday afternoon from January to March at the Portage YMCA. Fitness & racewalking techniques & coaching.
WALKING EVENTS: Be visible. Wear your KVW club attire.
Race flyers/registration forms are often available at Gazelle Sports on downtown Kalamazoo Mall
Note: Many races with walks are both competitive (timed events) and non-competitive walks.
