How to Train for Race Walking
USATF Michigan Association 5K Race Walk Championship
Annually, KVW organizes and sanctions the USATF race walk state championship as part of the Borgess Run. The race is held on the last Saturday of April. More details will be available on this website. Online registration available at www.BorgessRun.com You can learn to race walk and train for this event at the 10-week KVW Winter Walking Class held each January - March.
KVW Winter Walking Class - YMCA, Portage MI
A 10-week race walk training and coaching is offered annually from January - March on Sunday afternoons at the YMCA in Portage MI. The class is lead by Thelma Fallows, USA Track & Field certified Race Walk Judge and Bill Reed, former national USA Track & Field age-group race walk champion.
